Security Thread Production

  Zhongchao Special Security Technology Co Ltd(ZSST), a subsidiary of China Banknote Printing and Minting Corp, was established in 2003, and mainly undertakes the research, development and production tasks of optical and machine-readable anti-counterfeiting security threads and products for RMB. It is a national high-tech security thread enterprise. The company has the development and production capabilities of international mainstream anti-counterfeiting products such as security threads, anti-counterfeiting patches and stripes, and has advanced and mature anti-counterfeiting security thread technology. In recent years, the company has launched a series of security threads and products such as dual-color dynamic optical variable security threads(Dual MoveColor), dynamic optical variable security threads, ColorDance® series security threads, ColorLeaps® series security threads, high precision de-metallized stripes(Nicety®), and has unique patents for brands such as ColorDance®, ColorTrace®, Nicety®, and TwinCode®.

  ZSST has been committed to the innovation of security threads, and has applied for over 220 patents, including nearly 50 PCT international patents, granted over 100 authorized patents and applied for registration of over 120 trademarks.

  Dual MoveColor security thread with color-changing effect integrates multiple microstructures based on the principles of optical reflection and surface plasmon resonance, achieving a combination of dual colors and dynamic effects. It can be applied to window thread and large-area window stripes. This product has been used in commemorative banknotes such as China Aerospace Commemorative Banknote, Bank of China Hong Kong Winter Olympics Commemorative Banknote, and Bank of China Macau Winter Olympics Commemorative Banknote.

  MoveColor® security thread with dynamic color change is based on the principle of reflection, which achieves precise control of reflected light and creates various features such as dynamic, relief, and three-dimensional effects. The security thread combines dynamic and color-changing features to complement each other, forming a synergistic effect through the dynamic changes in color and position. MoveColor® security thread has been widely used in circulating banknotes, commemorative banknotes, currency culture, and other products, such as the 50 yuan paper currency of the fifth set of RMB (2019 version), the 70th anniversary commemorative banknote of RMB issuance, and the 20th anniversary commemorative banknote of Macao's return to China, etc.

   

  ColorDance® uses surface microstructures to interfere, diffract, and scatter visible light, creating dynamic or three-dimensional features with stable colors. ColorDance® security line adopts special optical micro-nano structures and provides new and difficult-to-counterfeit optical anti-counterfeiting features through customized software, special equipment, and strict quality control measures. ColorDance® security line has been successfully applied to the Bank of China Hong Kong Centenary Commemorative Note.

  

  ColorLeaps® security thread adopts high-precision micro-nano processing microstructure, which can achieve dynamic and three-dimensional effects; it can integrate photochromic characteristics to present color-changing effects; it can realize three-dimensional images that float above or sink below the paper surface; it can achieve dynamic effects of moving up and down with graphics and text; it can be integrated with holographic and other processes. The dynamic digital "20" effect made by ColorLeaps® security thread is applied to the commemorative banknotes of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

  The TwinCode® magnetic threads are encoded with two different magnetic materials which have special coercivity values, especially the unique high coercivity, providing superior magnetic concealment and machine reading performance of magnetics and conductivities. The TwinCode® can be used in the fully embeded threads with demetalized characteristics, and can also be integrated into windowed security threads. The TwinCode® has been applied in the fifth series of RMB (2015).

  The AlienCode® magnetic threads possess unique asymmetric waveforms, whch can produce innovative machine-readable features in phase, amplitude and waveform. The AlienCode® can be applied to the fully embeded threads, and can also be integrated into the windowed threads. The AlienCode® has been applied in NBPC Testing notes.

  The magnetic security threads with A-codeTM have both characteristic visibility and unique machine-readable feature,which integrate level 1 public and level 2 machine readable features and are easy to be distinguished and identified. A-codeTM is especially suitable for polymer banknotes, just as the successful application on the Beijing Winter Olympic Games commemorative banknotes, and is also suitable for windowed threads for paper banknotes.

  LiveColor thread with dynamic features integrates dual-color ColorTrace thread, structural ColorDance thread, dynamic ColorLeaps security thread, and high-precision Nicety technology. It requires extremely high precision and manufacturing difficulty, and can perfectly present the anti-counterfeiting ability and design effect of the wide strip through features such as color, dynamics, three-dimensionality, and accurate hollowing-out without errors. LiveColor thread was applied to plastic and paper-based commemorative banknotes for the Beijing Winter Olympics.
